Schwarzenegger says no Pet Insurance Bill
Pet insurance can be very beneficial in the event that your pet needs costly surgery or treatment, but the veterinary care that is covered under different policies. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's office released a long list of signed and vetoed bills. And one of it was a measure to regulate health insurance for pets. The Bill 2411 would have required a greater level of disclosure from pet insurance companies providing policies in California. Specifically, it would have stipulated that the companies offer greater transparency to consumers by providing more information detailing what veterinary care is specifically covered in their plans.
The bill would have allowed consumers to track complaints on the Department of Insurance's website. It would also have required that insurers post coverage limits, benefit schedules, pre-existing conditions and other limitations of pet insurance policies on the insurer's website, so consumers can make educated comparisons.
