Dog Treat Food Recall
This is the fourth time this year that company of pet foods recalled their product for a possible salmonella contamination. Merrick Pet Foods, Inc. of Amarillo, Texas announced on August 13, 2010 a recall on all lots of its 10 oz “Beef Filet Squares” for dogs and “Texas Hold’ems” pet treats.
Merrick is advising all pet owners who purchased these products to return the unused portion to the place of purchase. The cost of the product will be fully refunded. For more questions the company can be contacted at 800-664-7387 M-F 8:00 – 5:00 CDT. Infected pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans, according to the company. Dog owners are urged to contact their veterinarian if their pet has consumed the recalled product and is exhibiting these symptoms.
