Great Dane Snatches Infant and Ran
OMG! Recently, A 3-year-old and 170-pound Great Dane named Zack from California snatches a six month old baby (Jasmine Magluyan) from her mother's arms and dropped it off in the ground after running 100 feet.
The attack happened about 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of Laurel Lane, when the mother visited a neighbor and was talking on the front porch with her daughter on her shoulder when the huge dog rushed out the door, grabbed the child and ran off.
The animal ran approximately 100 feet with the baby hanging from her right side before dropping her in the street. Jasmine's mother together with it's neighbor ran to chased the dog.
After the incident, the baby was airlifted to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center where she was listed in guarded condition. She underwent treatment for broken ribs, a perforated liver, a collapsed lung, a broken clavicle and a multiple puncture wounds to her back.
Police said the Great Dane is a licensed dog and has had his shots. Therefore, Zack has been quarantined for 10 days at the Inland Valley Humane Society while officers investigate, and may be euthanized if it is declared dangerous. If the owners chose not to voluntarily put down the dog, a hearing would have been scheduled within the next few weeks. Today, even though the dog has had no history of aggressive behavior, his owners have decided to have the 3 year old great dane put down.
Jasmine was in stable condition today.
