Dogs are known for being loyal companions, recently we blog about a dog died when his handler soldier past away. And now dog of a slain US Navy SEAL remained loyal even in death, the dog refuse to leave his owner's casket during the funeral service.

You might heard about a study that dog can sniffs out prostate cancer, now a new study in Germany suggest that dogs can also sniffs out human lung cancer.
According to the study, dogs were able to accurately sniff out tumors in 71% of patients in a German hospital , making scientists hopeful that dogs with their keen sense of smell could be used in early detection of lung cancer.
After smelling the breath of over 200 volunteers including healthy people, lung cancer patients, and patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the dogs were incredibly detect lung cancer even in the presence of other scents like tobacco smoke. Current lab tests for lung cancer can’t do this. This suggests that there is indeed a VOC associated directly with lung cancer, which can be detected — at least by a dog — even in the presence of other compounds.
Though the study shows that there is a marker for lung cancer in the breath , still they don't know what it is. There's still more work to be done.

Dogs have always had the ability to soothe restless hearts and souls. This complex dog quality is now being utilized in the courtroom to comfort those victims who are too emotionally traumatized to provide testimony, just like what Rosie did.
A traumatized teenage rape victim testified in court last month with the help of a furry friend Rosie, the first judicially approved courtroom dog in New York. The dog would lean in and nudge the 15-year-old girl whenever she seemed afraid during her testimony. With the girl’s account, prosecutors were able to secure a conviction for her father, who sexually abused her for four years.
Rosie is an 11-year-old golden retriever whose regular job is helping provide therapy in schools for troubled children, was there at her side, helping to calm a child who experts said is otherwise incapable of talking about her traumatic ordeal.
